Singapore central banker to join politics: senior minister

SINGAPORE, Apr. 1, 2011 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Singapore Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong said on Friday that he was glad that the Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore Heng Swee Keat will be joining politics, in the clearest indication so far of Heng going to be in the ruling party's team for the upcoming general election. Goh also said on his Facebook page that Heng has the potential to be a minister.
